LOSE ME. Blog Tour

Hello bookies!
It has been a while since I posted a blog post in English, except for reviews. I am happy to be finally back to this language, as I know you are numerous following me worlwide. By the way, thank you sooooo much for that! I am always astonished when I discover that my blog is seen in so many countries!
This blog post is a little bit different from the ones I usually post. Indeed, I have been chosen by M. C. Frank to take part in her blog tour for the release of the novel LOSE ME. which was yesterday, on April 11. You can order it now and discover this beautiful story! As for the blog tour, it is going on from April 11 to April 27. What does that mean? We are several book bloggers and we will talk about M. C. Frank and her novel, LOSE ME. in order to spread the word about the release and because we love reading this book and we want it to be known. Thanks to this blog post, you can learn more about these two by the way of an interview and my review of the novel, but you can also answer a quiz and try your luck with a special giveaway! Want to know more about all this? Let’s read what is following!

First of all, let’s talk about the book itself. I had the opportunity to read LOSE ME. last February while it was released yesterday (thank you M. C. Frank for this!) and I really enjoyed it. If you haven’t read my review yet, it is not too late. But before this, here is the synopsis so you can learn more about it:
« Today is not the day I die. »
Ari Demos starts every day with this thought. Fresh out of high school, she’s landed a coveted role as a stunt double in a new Pride and Prejudice adaptation starring the Hollywood phenomenon Weston Spencer. But this job isn’t going to be easy: Ari will be performing complicated water stunts and driving fast cars along the narrow cliffs of Corfu. One false step and she could lose not only her job, but her life.
And then Wes Spencer, Mr Darcy himself, arrives in Greece. He’s got dirty blonde hair, a mile-long yacht and a bored look on that gorgeous face. Ari wants nothing to do with the rich actor boy, but on the day she meets him, she has an accident. One that almost claims her life. And now she can’t hide from the truth any longer:
She might be much closer to losing everything than she thought. She might be dying. And the British actor is the last person she’d expect to save her life.
She’s a hard-working island girl. He’s adored by millions. Falling in love was never supposed to be a part of the job. Staying alive was never supposed to be a part of growing up. Was this story ever meant for a happily ever after?

As you understood, this is a beautiful love story which is hidden behind LOSE ME. If you love romance, this novel is definitely made for you! Even more if you loved Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen because there are several references to this masterpiece. By the way, do you want to know who your modern Mr Darcy is? Well, let’s play and answer this quiz, created for this blog tour only. Share your answer in the comments, so we can compare our results!

Now that you know more about the novel and the characters, here are some details about M. C. Frank herself. She took the time to answer some of my questions and I thank her for that. Here is what she replied.

1. Have you always wished to become an author or is it pretty new?
I have! I used to write little one-line stories before I even went to school (I just knew how to write a few words). My dad was a writer, so I wanted to be like him.

2. When you create a character, do you find your inspiration in a real person or is it pure fiction?
There are certainly aspects of a character that have been inspired by real people in my life, but the overall personalities and appearances are completely made up.

3. How do you feel when you read a review on your novel?
I am so thankful for all the lovely messages and emails lovely readers send me, saying how much they loved my books. I can’t believe it, it’s like living in a dream!

4. Do you find inspiration thanks to other authors and novels, except in Jane Austen’s work?
Yes, I’m always inspired by what I read. And I do read a lot.

5. Who are your favorite authors?
Too many to count, but I’ll try to give you a few: Charlotte Brontë, Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Ray Bradbury, Margaret Atwood to name a few.

6. Can you give us your literary top 5? (favorite books)
That’s another hard question 🙂 Let’s see…. Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, Our Mutual Friend, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, The Wrath and The Dawn.

She also left a message for all of us and it is time to discover it…
“LOSE ME. is the NA (new adult) story of a British actor and a stunt girl. They meet while filming a modern Pride and Prejudice adaptation on the island of Corfu, and fall in hate at first sight! Things aren’t as they seem, however, and soon enough sparks begin to fly. What they don’t know is that a dark, heartbreaking secret is threatening to tear them apart. I am so excited to share this story with you guys, all of you have been so supportive through the entire publishing process, I have never felt less alone in my life!  This book is so close to my heart, because it deals with a lot of issues I myself have had to deal with. One of them is extremely serious and I haven’t read or seen any book that deals with it, and so it is even more important to me to raise awareness about it. A very special person in my life has had to deal with it, and my book is dedicated to him.  Actually, I think that’s the main reason inspiration took me to this story; it was because I needed to tell my story as well as his, and to put it out there in the world, so that more people can know that they are understood and that they are not alone in their struggle.”

Finally, in order to make someone happy, there is a giveaway going on. This is the same giveaway for all the blogs, so if you already took part on another blog, you have nothing more to do! What can you win? A paperback copy of LOSE ME. You want it? Try your luck!

2 réflexions au sujet de “LOSE ME. Blog Tour”

  1. You got Mr. Darcy! Wes Spencer is the British actor who plays Mr. Darcy in the modern Pride and Prejudice adaptation that’s being filmed during Lose Me. He’s all surfer-blonde curls, green eyes, expensive cars and movie sets, but deep down he hides a heart of gold. He is the kind of guy who would jump into the water to save you, but when you first meet him, he comes across as indifferent and somewhat obnoxious. Maybe something will happen in his life to shake him up enough that his better side will start to reveal itself?
